A team of six undertrained but over-confident people from Chesterfield Special Cylinders is taking on a Peak District charity triathlon challenge this Spring to raise funds for Sheffield-based charity Endeavour, which supports disadvantaged young people.
The CSC Endeavour team of Andrew Green, Dominic Manterfield, Jodie Leonard, Andrew Spafford, Mick Pinder, Craig Peckett and Andy Evans will be swimming, cycling and running to the best of their (limited) abilities on 20 May. Each team of three will swim 750m, cycle 25km and run 10km in the Peak District National Park, around Hathersage and Castleton.
Managing director, Mick Pinder, says: “There is a culture of sport and exercise at CSC and a strong team spirit, so this event is tailormade for us.
“Endeavour supports young local people who struggle in mainstream education, in getting the skills and qualifications they need to get on in life, so this is a very worthwhile cause.”
