Maintenance Supervisor & Planner (CSC)

Reports to: Facilities & Maintenance Manager
Salary: Up to £45,000 depending on skill and experience
Hours: Working hours will be 37 hours per week, Monday-Thursday: 07:45 - 16:15 and Friday: 07:45 - 12:45

This role will be responsible for planning the preventative maintenance programme for Chesterfield Special Cylinders, along with managing and developing the team of mechanical and electrical technicians to enable effective maintenance of all equipment and maximise operational uptime.

Job duties, responsibilities and accountabilities:

  • Responsible for the daily supervision and development of the Maintenance team
  • Ensures the direct team and deployed contractors comply with all H,S & E rules of the site
  • Develop new and maintain existing effective preventive maintenance programmes
  • Plans the maintenance programme with efficient deployment of personnel in line with operational needs
  • Accountable for the Maintenance team achieving KPIs and team goals
  • Conduct regular individual maintenance team members performance reviews and goals
  • Maintains consistent and effective communication with internal customers on planned maintenance, repairs and expected completion dates
  • Communicates new or revised company objectives to the maintenance team
  • Set up a critical parts store and maintain stock levels
  • Assists in identified parts deficiencies and helps to prevent further recurrences
  • Allocate maintenance tasks, run reports and monitor assets through an online asset management system
  • Manage, monitor and develop a key asset improvement and efficiency programme
  • Mentor and develop key job skills with any maintenance apprentices at any given time
  • Any other duties as required.

Experience:

  • Experience of working in a heavy engineering environment
  • Leadership and people management
  • Team building and objective setting
  • Experience using maintenance planning systems
  • Use of overhead crane (pendant & remote) is desirable.

Qualifications:

  • Apprenticeship in relevant Engineering field
  • NVQ Level 2 Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or similar
  • BTEC Level 3 National Diploma in Engineering or similar would be advantageous.
