Chesterfield Special Cylinders is currently seeking a Senior Document Controller. The successful applicant will be responsible for managing the effective planning, preparation and delivery for all technical documentation related to customer contracts, products and services to meet contract requirements and commercial targets.
The successful candidate will also need to define and implement improvements to document processing, control and record keeping.
Job duties, responsibilities and accountabilities:
- Certification of Chesterfield Special Cylinders manufactured goods and services to the defence, marine, aerospace, industrial and oil and gas sectors
- Manage and maintain the document and certification processes within the department, ensuring data packs for customer contracts are accurate and completed within the specified timeframe
- Develop and maintain an effective document management system that is embedded within company procedures and understood by all users
- Work collaboratively to agree document and generate certification pack contents in direct consultation with customers or with the contracts, engineering and sales teams to make sure the correct level of certification content, timeframe and resources are planned
- Ensure that all generated ITPs, quality plans and MITPs contain the correct quality assurance document references, reflect the correct customer inspection witness/reference/consult/hold points and that they are signed off by the customer before specified operations start
- Ensure that all document and certification packs are correctly archived and can be readily accessed
- For all highly-sensitive projects, maintain cylinder product and test databases
- Ensure certification for bought-in products and services conforms with contract specification requirements
- Liaise with third party inspectors and customer representatives on site with regards to documentation acceptance and sign off
- Ensure document and certification packs are made available to customers utilising web based portals and electronic document sharing software where applicable
- Record and track customer concessions within the document management system
- Provide regular KPI data to demonstrate departmental performance
Knowledge, qualifications and experience:
- 3 + years experience of professional certification, document management and quality role
- 3 + years experience of manufacturing engineered systems in a highly regulated industry
- To be able to demonstrate a customer oriented work ethic
- ‘Can do’ attitude with a focus on attention to detail
