Mechatronics Maintenance Technician Apprentice

We’re recruiting for a Mechatronics Maintenance Technician Apprentice to complete a Level 3 Engineering Technician Apprenticeship and join our team.

Role & responsibilities:
  • Ensure that all work is completed to a high standard, whilst complying with the Company’s Health and Safety requirements to ensure the safety of yourself and others
  • Communicate effectively with peers and management
  • To work as part of the Maintenance Team ensuring all equipment is operating efficiently and safely
  • Undertake mechanical and electrical fault finding to plant and equipment
  • Become fluent in the Company maintenance management system (Fiix) to ensure efficient running of plant and equipment
  • Ensure that the working area is clean and tidy on completion of any job/task
  • To install and maintain new and existing equipment, whilst ensuring production is not interrupted
  • To put forward and effectively communicate ideas to promote plant improvement
  • Proactive in addressing and identifying potential unforeseen issues with plant and machinery
  • Health, Safety & Environment
    • Ensure compliance with the company’s health and safety and environmental policies, ensuring these are understood and upheld
    • Ensure that you are always equipped with the correct personal protective equipment and is properly looked after and maintained
    • Ensure that all accidents are reported according to company policy

Things to consider:

During the first year you will be required to attend the University of Sheffield’s AMRC Training Centre based in Catcliffe, Sheffield, for an initial block of full-time study.  One Friday per month you will return to your workplace.  After the initial block training you will attend the AMRC Training Centre for one day a week to undertake the knowledge study.  The remaining four days will be spent in company learning on the job.

Qualification Requirements:

Advanced Apprenticeships entry requirements

You will need both of the following:

  • GCSE English language C or 4 or above
  • GCSE Maths C or 4 or above.

Applicants are also required to successfully complete a series of assessments at the University of Sheffield’s AMRC Training Centre, as well as an employer recruitment and selection process to secure a place on an apprenticeship programme.
