Chesterfield Special Cylinders’ technical administrator, Clare Wesley-Holley, completed her brave 15,000-foot tandem skydive recently and broke her fund-raising target by almost £500.
Clare has smashed through her initial target of £150 to raise well over than £600 for the Macmillan cancer charity. She’s grateful to everyone who funded her and says she would happily skydive again.
“That was my first skydive and I’m hoping it won’t be my last,” says Clare. “It was even more thrilling than I expected and, thanks to all the training, I found it easier to do than I expected.
“I am extremely grateful to everyone who helped me raise more than £600. I don’t know the final figure as money is still coming in.
“I did the skydive in memory of my boyfriend’s father, who died of cancer, and am pleased to have raised much-needed funds for this excellent charity. Macmillan played a very positive part in the last few weeks of his life.
“Although I was nervous before the jump, and 15,000 feet was a long way up, I enjoyed every moment, as the pictures testify.”
